A Message from the Founder of Coin Hawk
I’m Tim, the founder of Coin Hawk
After years of searching coins, I realized many missed varieties weren't caused by lack of knowledge—they were caused by poor inspection processes and inconsistent methods in how I searched.
I’ve spent countless hours handling each coin one by one and this made it terribly difficult and slow identifying new varieties or even locating key markers and having to go back and forth between coins.
That's why I created Coin Hawk™.
Precision design and crystal-clear acrylic provided a way to quickly load and view boxes of coins in 1/3 the time. I no longer missed errors or varieties and was able to easily identify high grade examples and notice even small variations using a microscope moving coin to coin in seconds.
I designed the Coin Hawk tray using a seat and cradle approach to ensure coins were easy to load and easy to view, even when flipping or looking across angles to determine true double dies verses machine doubling.
Each tray is specifically designed to provide 100% visibility of the coin’s surface while keeping the coin nested in the cradle. The seat ensures that the coin will never fall through.
Very tight design tolerances means that flipping the coin hawk tray over to view the reverse doesn’t dislodge or alter the orientation of the coin which makes identifying rotated dies a snap.
With Coin Hawk trays you line up each coin side by side, top to bottom for a custom viewing panel. I designed it to be a comfortable size and easily fit under all coin microscopes.
